About Bill Lyons:
Prior to founding Lyons HR, Bill Lyons had a distinguished career in general operations, financial, and accounting management. He served as vice president and CFO of a large, private manufacturing company and held a senior financial position with a Fortune 100 company. Bill spent four years as managing director of an investment banking firm in Birmingham, Alabama, where he was involved in mergers and acquisitions, business valuations, and private equity placements. Bill has been a trusted business advisor and has served on the boards of several private companies and industry organizations including the Business Council of Alabama and the Employer Services Assurance Corporation. In 1995, he founded Lyons HR and currently serves as the company’s CEO and Chairman.
Bill received undergraduate degrees in business from Freed-Hardeman University and the University of North Alabama, as well as an MBA from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Bill is a Certified Management Accountant, is accredited by the Institute of Business Appraisers and is certified by the Institute of Certified Business Counselors. In March 2021, Bill published his book We Are HR: The Business Owners Definitive Guide to Professional Employer Organizations.
